Ulster BOCES Hiring Event

Ulster BOCES Hosts Hiring Event To Fill Multiple Job Openings

Ulster BOCES will host its annual hiring event on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ulster BOCES Jane Bullowa Conference Center, 175 Route 32 North in New Paltz.

The event offers job seekers the opportunity to learn about and apply for a variety of positions across Ulster BOCES departments, including instructional and support roles, as well as summer school opportunities. Available positions may include full-time, hourly, substitute, and seasonal employment.

Attendees will also have access to free, career-enhancing workshops designed to help candidates strengthen their job readiness skills:

● The Art of the Resume: Master Your First Impression — 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
● Intro to Computer Literacy — 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Art of the Resume: Master Your First Impression is a beginner-friendly, hands-on
workshop where participants will build a resume draft from scratch in just 45 minutes.

Designed for individuals entering the workforce, returning after a break, or exploring a new
career path, the session provides practical guidance and real-time support.

Participants will learn:
● What employers are looking for in a resume
● How to structure and format effectively
● How to translate experience into clear, compelling language
● Common mistakes to avoid

No prior experience is required, and devices will be provided so attendees can actively work
on their resumes during the session and leave with a completed draft.

Job seekers will also have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives from
multiple Ulster BOCES departments, including student programs, technology, instructional
services, and operations. Representatives from the Ulster County Department of Personnel
will be available to answer questions about the Civil Service process.

“Events like this allow potential candidates to connect directly with our team and learn about
the many opportunities to work at Ulster BOCES,” said Evelyn Lafontaine, Director of
Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointment is required.

At Ulster BOCES, our mission is to provide high quality shared educational, administrative, and technical services that will enable component school districts to develop the capacity of their students and adults to achieve higher standards of performance. With an emphasis on economic efficiencies, Ulster BOCES is committed to offering educational programs that enable all students to prepare for employment and/or post-secondary education.

Ulster BOCES serves the eight public school districts in Ulster County, including Ellenville, Highland, Kingston, New Paltz, Onteora, Rondout Valley, Saugerties, and Wallkill.

Ulster BOCES programs and services benefit every student, teacher, administrator, business, and taxpayer in Ulster County. Fostering partnerships between all of the public schools eliminates duplication of such things as staff time, space, and equipment and is an economical way for districts to provide opportunities they otherwise might not be able to afford or that would be more expensive to provide independently. Ulster BOCES staff members also have particular skills and expertise related to each of the programs and services offered, making participation a high-quality and effective option for districts.
